The Iowa State Patrol investigated an accident on Mill Road in Fort Dodge late Friday afternoon at 4:44 p.m. Reportedly a 2021 model Buick Enclave Essence SUV operated by Laura Porter of Fort Dodge was traveling west at the time. Porter was seen driving off the road to the left and struck a power pole. The Porter SUV rolled over and came to rest on its side. Fort Dodge Fire EMS crews were summoned to transport Porter to Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Investigating state trooper Robert Karrick reported that the Porter SUV was totaled in the accident. The damage to the utility pole owned by Mid American Energy was estimated at $7000.
