Eagle Grove softball shuts out West Hancock, 9-0

The Eagle Grove Eagles softball team returned to action on Wednesday night, as they made the drive north to take on the West Hancock Eagles at West Hancock High School in Top of Iowa West action in Britt. Eagle Grove entered at 1-1, while West Hancock entered at 0-1.

The Eagles would manufacture a pair of runs in the 1st off an RBI bunt single by Myka Anderson, before Anderson stole home to put Eagle Grove up 2-0. Eagle Grove would score two more runs in the 2nd off a passed ball and a double steal to go up 4-0, before 4 runs came across in the 3rd off 2 errors and 2 RBI singles from Ellie Lenning and Addy Jeske to give the Eagles an 8-0 advantage. Eagle Grove scored one more run on a West Hancock error in the 4th as the Eagles took home a 9-0 win in 5 innings.

Mya Morgan took home the win, allowing 0 runs on 1 hit and striking out 5, while also going 1-for-3 at the plate. Senior Addy Jeske went 3-for-4 with 3 singles and an RBI, while Myka Anderson and Ellie Lenning both tallied RBI as well.

Eagle Grove softball returns to action on Friday, when they host Belmond-Klemme at Greenwood Park with first pitch at 6 PM.
