
The Iowa Workforce Development office reported Tuesday that Hamilton County’s unemployment rate for April was 2.7 percent. This is down from the March rate of 3.1 percent for Hamilton County. In April,2024 rate, the unemployment rate was at 1.6 percent. There were 7,820 people across Hamilton County that were employed while 220 residents were without work. In surrounding counties, the unemployment rate for Boone and Hardin Counties was tied at 2.8 percent. Franklin County at 3.3 percent. Story and Wright Counties shared a rate of 2.7 percent. The Webster County unemployment rate for April was 3.5 percent, Iowa’s unemployment rate for April was at 3.5 percent which was up from the March rate of 3.4 percent. There were 1,667,100 Iowans employed for April with over 60,600 unemployed last month.
