Webster City girls soccer season ends at Dike-New Hartford, 9-0

The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Wednesday, as they made the trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines in their Class 1A, Region 8 quarterfinal at Simons Field in Dike. Webster City entered at 6-8-1, while Dike-New Hartford entered at 10-5-1.

Dike-New Hartford would set the tone right away, putting up an offensive ambush on the Lynx with 6 goals in the 1st half to take a 6-0 lead. The Wolverines would continue the onslaught into the 2nd half, putting up 3 more goals to come away with a 9-0 victory.

Kate Feltz would put together an eye-popping 25 saves on Wednesday, despite the 9 goals scored. Dike-New Hartford advances to face rivals Aplington-Parkersburg in the 1A-8 semifinal on May 28th at 7 PM. Webster City’s season ends at 6-9-1.
