Webster City Police investigate Monday morning motor vehicle accident in Vantec parking lot and building.

Webster City Police investigated an accident shortly after 7:30 last Monday morning in the Vantec parking lot at 205 Closz Drive. Reportedly a northbound 2011 model Chevrolet 4500 box truck driven by Bruce Rollins of Callender, Iowa  was making a delivery. The Rollins truck was going to make a left hand turn in the parking lot when Rollins told police that his foot slipped from the truck’s brake pedal and then hit the gas pedal. Rollins could not get the truck stopped in time. The truck then proceeded to over the curb, collided with a green ground electrical box and transformer. The truck then ended up colliding with the Vantec building. There was extensive damage done to the electrical system at Vantec. The damage was estimated at $76,000 to the utility box and transformer, $3000 in damage to the Vantec building and the Rollins truck was totaled in the crash. No injuries were reported. Monday’s accident was investigated by Webster City Police officer Dalton Mourlam.
