Roland-Story girls golf dominates regional meet in Story City

The Roland-Story Norsemen girls golf team returned to action on Friday, as they hosted their Class 2A Regional Tournament at River Bend Golf Course in Story City. The Norsemen were joined by East Marshall, Grand View Christian, Kuemper Catholic, PCM, Pleasantville, Van Meter and Woodward-Granger.

Roland-Story would dominate the competition, despite consistent wind gusts upwards of 45 miles per hour, as the Norsemen shot 341 (+53) and won by a mind-boggling 44 strokes over 2nd-place Kuemper Catholic. Junior Brinley Carlson took home gold, winning the individual portion by shooting even par on the day. Senior Brooke Thompson would tie for 4th and shoot an 84 (+12), freshman Hadley Carlson would tie for 6th and shoot a 90 (+18), while senior Isabel Hoskins rounded out scoring by placing 9th and shooting a 95 (+23).

Roland-Story girls golf advances to their Class 2A Region 4 tournament, held at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in State Center on Tuesday, beginning at 9 AM.
