
The Roland-Story Norsemen boys and girls track teams returned to action on Thursday, as they competed in their Class 2A State Qualifying Meet at Ogden High School in Ogden. The Norsemen were joined by the host Bulldogs, as well as East Sac County, Greene County, Kuemper Catholic, MVACOU, OABCIG, South Central Calhoun, Southeast Valley, Van Meter and Woodward-Granger.
Roland-Story’s boys would claim the district championship, winning with 111 points and claiming numerous auto qualifiers. The first winner was the Norsemen’s shuttle hurdle team, winning in a time of 1:01.16 with the team of Long-Berggren-Barber-Strum, as that was followed by junior Fiston Carlson placing 2nd in the boys 100m dash in a season-best time of 11.28 seconds. The Norsemen’s 4×200 would claim the next victory, winning in a season-best time of 1:30.77 with the team of Carlson-Fosse-McIlrath-Crabbs. Jayden Strum would then solidify his spot at state, winning the 110m High Hurdles in a time of 15.21 seconds. Evan Voga would punch his ticket to the state meet next, placing 2nd in the 800m run in a time of 2:04.31, while also placing 2nd in the 1600m run in a time of 4:42.16. Roland-Story’s final auto qualifier would be the 4×100, placing 2nd in a time of 43.98 with the team of Carlson-Fosse-Spainhower-Crabbs.
Roland-Story’s girls would place 2nd in their meet with 113 points, as Van Meter won with 152 points. The Norsemen girls would also have numerous auto qualifiers, beginning with Adalyn Sporleder placing 2nd in the long jump with a mark of 17′ 10.25″, before the sprint medley picked up a win in a time of 1:50.50 with the team of Sporleder-Jondle-Petersen-Lande. Roland-Story then qualified for the 4×800, placing 2nd in a time of 10:51.18 with the team of Johnson-M. Petersen-Truesdell-Kar. Lande, before the shuttle hurdle would pick up a win in a season-best time of 1:06.46 with the team of Jondle-Lucas-Rechkemmer-Helgeson. Kam Lande would then win the 400m dash in a season-best time of 58.56, before the Norsemen placed 2nd in the 4×200 in a time of 1:49.43 with the team of Reitano-Petersen-Jondle-Sporleder. Kam Lande then won the 200m dash in a time of 25.92, before anchoring the 4×100 to a win in a season-best time of 49.94.
