The dusty and windy conditions of Thursday afternoon contributed to a two-vehicle accident near Thor in Humboldt County on Utah Avenue. The Iowa State Patrol reported a southbound 2016 model GMC Sierra pickup truck operated by William L. Dencklau of Dakota City crossed the center line and collided head on with a northbound 2017 model Chevrolet Impala driven by Rosemary Baker of Humboldt. The visibility for both drivers was obscured due to the blowing dirt in the country, Baker was transported to the Humboldt County Hospital by the Humboldt EMS for treatment of her injuries.
