The Webster City Lynx boys golf team returned to action on Wednesday, as they made the drive to the Iowa Great Lakes Region to compete in their Class 3A Sectional Meet at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Arnolds Park. The Lynx were joined by Boone, Cherokee, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden, Okoboji and Storm Lake.
Webster City would place 2nd in the meet with a team score of 324 (+36), just 7 strokes behind meet champion Humboldt, who shot a 317 (+29). Senior Cael Nixon would be the top placer for the Lynx, shooting a 75 (+3), as junior Dawson Bertran shot an 81 (+9) and tied for 7th. Senior Luke Firsching and sophomore Coyce Bertran would both tie for 12th and shoot 84’s (+12) to round out scoring.
Webster City boys golf returns to action on Monday, when they compete in their Class 3A District Meet at Landsmeer Golf Club in Orange City at 10 AM.
