Webster City Community Theater announces cast for “Little Shop of Horrors” set for July.

WEBSTER CITY, IA | Webster City Community Theatre today announced the cast for its upcoming summer musical, Little Shop of Horrors. The production will be presented July 10-19 at the performing arts center, 1001 Willson Ave.

Little Shop of Horrors is a quirky musical comedy about Seymour, a shy florist who discovers a strange and exotic plant that he named Audrey II, after his kind and sweet co-worker, Audrey. As the plant brings unexpected fame and success to the struggling flower shop, Seymour hopes it will also help him win Audrey’s heart. But things get complicated when Audrey II develops a surprising appetite, leading to a series of unexpected events.

The cast includes: KeVon Edwards as Seymour; Amelia Oliver as Audrey; Eric Heckert as Dr. Orin Scrivello; Sam Youngdale as Mr. Mushnik; Perla Torres as Crystal; Meg Cain as Chiffon; Karina Murray as Ronnette; Katie Hildal of Jewell as the voice of Audrey II; Don Zompa as the Voice Not Unlike God. The ensemble includes Jeanette Tempel, Jennifer Rank, Abby Heckert, Evy Streigle, Tim Berven and Don Zompa.

Officials said three people are still needed to serve as puppeteers. Those interested are asked to email wcctcasting@gmail.com.

The pit band members include Josi Greenley, Eric Hanson, Kirk Greenley and Eric Greenley.

Anne Blankenship is the director and Kerryn Oliver of Alden serves as the music director. Lindsay Henderson is the choreographer.
