
The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Monday, as they made the short trip east on Highway 20 to take on the Cadets of Iowa Falls-Alden in North Central Conference action at Cadet Field in Iowa Falls. Webster City entered at 5-5-1 and on a 4-match win streak, while Iowa Falls-Alden entered at 7-2.
Iowa Falls-Alden would take control of the match with an 11th minute goal from sophomore Grace Hartford to make the score 1-0. The Cadets would strike again in the 17th minute on a Joslin Johnson goal to make it 2-0, as Johnson found the goal again in the 22nd minute to make it 3-0. Freshman Kymri Koenigsfeld would add a goal in the 31st minute to put the Cadets up 4-0 at halftime.
Webster City would capture their lone goal of the game with a score from junior Jayme Perez to cut the score to 4-1, but IF-A junior Joslin Johnson would complete a hat trick in the 2nd half to give the Cadets a 5-1 win.
Webster City girls soccer returns to action on Tuesday, when they host Clear Lake in a North Central Conference makeup match with the Lions at 5:30 PM.
