
The Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows Cowboys golf teams returned to action on Monday, as they made the trip to far northern Iowa to compete in the 2025 North Central Conference Tournament at Legacy Golf Course in Mason City. The Lynx and Cowboys were joined by Algona, Clear Lake, Hampton-Dumont-CAL, Humboldt, Iowa Falls-Alden and St. Edmond.
Webster City would finish 2nd with a team score of 314 (+26), 11 strokes behind conference champion Clear Lake, who shot a 303 (+15). The Lynx’s top placers were junior Dawson Bertran and sophomore Coyce Bertran, as both athletes tied for 5th and each shot a 77 (+5). Seniors Cael Nixon and Cole Miller would both tie for 9th and each shoot an 80 (+8) to round out scoring.
Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would place 7th with a team score of 381 (+93), as their top placer was freshman Jacob Ruba, who shot a 92 (+20) and tied for 30th. Junior Tristan Kakacek was 36th and shot a 94 (+22), senior Caleb Seaba tied for 39th and shot a 97 (+25), as freshman Teddy Yackle tied for 42nd and shot a 98 (+26).
Webster City boys golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they compete in their Class 3A Sectional meet at Emerald Hills Golf Club in Arnolds Park at 10 AM. Clarion-Goldfield-Dows boys golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they host their Class 2A Sectional meet at Clarmond Country Club in Clarion at 10 AM.
