
During their Tuesday morning meeting, the Hamilton County Supervisors accepted the agreements for two bridge replacement projects in the southeastern part of the county. Hamilton County engineer Ryan Weidemann said the bridge replacement work involves the bridge on Tollman Avenue in section 36 of Ellsworth Township near Randall. The work will involve replacing a bridge built in 1957 converting it into a box culvert bridge. The other bridge replacement project is on Ubben Avenue near Ellsworth in section 6 of Scott Township. The project in Scott Township is for a new box culvert bridge to replace a bridge constructed in 1947. Bid letting for the bridge projects will be in December. There will be a planned resurfacing project on Hamilton County Road R-77 from Highway 175 south to the Hamilton Story County line for next summer. Funding for the bridge and road work will be made through farm to market dollars.
The supervisors accepted the Opioid Fund projects totaling $176,000 plus funding for a new Hamilton County Sheriff’s mobile phone App for $15,000. Information on the new app will be forthcoming from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office will be released soon. A similar phone app is offered in Webster County.
A lease agreement with Trinity Regional Medical Center Unity Point for their Family Planning Clinic at the Hamilton County Public Health office to begin later this morning was accepted.
In personnel matters, the Hamilton County Supervisors accepted the resignation of John Beatty as assistant Hamilton County Attorney that took effect May 1st. A resignation of Zayne Mikita as a deputy sheriff in the county sheriff’s office was accepted. Mark Watkins was hired as a full-time sheriff deputy.Deputy sheriff Brandon Pritchard will have a change of status in his employment was accepted by the supervisors.
