
The South Hamilton Hawks and Roland-Story Norsemen boys golf teams returned to action on Friday, as they competed in a 9-hole tournament at Jewell Golf and Country Club in Jewell. The Hawks and Norsemen were joined by Ogden, Greene County and North Polk.
Roland-Story would come away as meet champions, shooting a team score of 164 (+20). Jack Birkland was the individual champion with a 38 (+2), as senior Braylen Loots tied for 4th and shot a 40 (+4). Sophomore Jake Knolls and junior Hayden Eslick would tie for 8th and each shoot a 43 (+7). Sophomore Ryan Fisher would also shoot a 43 (+7).
South Hamilton placed 2nd with a team score of 168 (+24), as their top placer was junior Luke Martensen, who tied for runner-up with a 39 (+3). Junior Michael Carlson would tie for 6th and shoot a 42 (+6), junior Sam Koehnk would tied for 8th and shoot a 43 (+7), while senior Connor Deppe tied for 13th and shot a 44 (+8). Fellow senior Landon Sogard also tied for 13th and shot a 44.
South Hamilton boys golf returns to action on Wednesday, when they compete in their Class 1A Sectional Meet at Belle Plaine Country Club in Belle Plaine at 10 AM. Roland-Story also returns to action on Wednesday, when they host their Class 2A Sectional Meet at River Bend Golf Course in Story City at 10 AM.
