There will be a meeting of the Jewell City Council this (Monday) evening at 7:00 at the Jewell City Hall. This evening’s meeting will recognize a new member to the Jewell Fire and Rescue Department, a meeting with Ottie Maxey of the Ames Regional Economic Alliance and consider a liquor license amendment for Cyndi Gryte. The council will discuss the empty lots in the Jewell community with officials of JADE (Jewell Area Development Enterprise). A public hearing will be at 7:15 p.m. for a budget amendment for the 2024-25 fiscal year that wraps up June 30th. There will be reports by the Jewell Public Works Department plus other matters at this evening’s meeting.
