
The Webster City Lynx and Wright County Broncos girls soccer teams returned to action on Thursday night, as the two squads faced off with one another in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field in Webster City. The Lynx entered with a record of 4-5-1, while Wright County entered at 1-6-3.
Webster City would put up a pair of goals in the first half, but Wright County managed to get a goal in across in the first half as the Lynx led 2-1 at the halftime break. Defenses ruled the 2nd half, but Webster City would get a goal across in the 2nd half to bring the final to 3-1.
Goal scorers for Webster City included juniors Jayme Perez and Janey Putney, as well as sophomore Sandra Fuentes-Cruz, with senior Mia Hansen tallying an assist. Freshman goal keeper McKenzie Vasquez would tally a save in relief of junior Kate Feltz.
Webster City girls soccer returns to action on Monday, when they travel to Iowa Falls-Alden to take on the Cadets at Cadet Field, beginning at 5:30 PM. Wright County girls soccer returns to action on Monday, when they take on the Charles City Comets in Charles City, beginning at 5:30 PM.
