Webster City girls soccer shuts out Hampton-Dumont-CAL on the road, 5-0

The Webster City Lynx girls soccer team returned to action on Monday night, as they made the trip north to take on the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. The Lynx entered with a record of 3-5-1, while HD-CAL entered at 0-9-1.

Monday’s first half would be a defensive slugfest, as neither side generated any offense in the opening 40 minutes as halftime would be a 0-0 tie. In the 2nd half, the Lynx roared to life with 5 goals, 2 from Sandra Fuentes-Cruz, 2 from Janey Putney and one from Mia Hansen as Webster City cruised to a 5-0 victory.

Junior Jayme Perez and Sophomore Sandra Fuentes-Cruz each added an assist, while junior goalkeeper Kate Feltz tallied 4 saves.

Webster City girls soccer improved to 4-5-1 with the win, and will return to action on Thursday, when they host Wright County in North Central Conference action at Lynx Field, beginning at 5:30 PM.
