Webster City, Eagle Grove girls track compete in Cadet Relays in Iowa Falls

The Webster City Lynx and Eagle Grove Eagles girls track teams returned to action on Monday, as they competed in the Cadet Relays at Iowa Falls-Alden High School. The Lynx and Eagles were joined by the host Cadets, as well as Grundy Center, Humboldt, South Hardin and St. Edmond.

Webster City would place 4th with 92 points, as they saw a couple of 2nd place finishers, as the sprint medley placed 2nd in a time of 1:56.06 with the team of Hartnett-Weinschenk-Savitski-Grossoehme, while the distance medley placed 2nd in a season-best time of 4:29.81 with the team of Hartnett-Wright-Savitski-Grossoehme. Adysen Poppen placed 3rd in the shot put with a season-best throw of 37′ 6.5″, while Jakaela Cherry placed 3rd in the discus with a season-best throw of 106′ .5″. The 4×800 placed 3rd in a time of 11:58.38 with the team of Reed-L. VanDeer-Davis-Sosebe, while the 4×100 placed 3rd in a time of 52.80 with the team of Weinschenk-Grossoheme-Wright-Savitski. Cloe Savitski placed 3rd in the 200m dash in a time of 27.74, while the 4×400 placed 3rd in a season-best time of 4:45.75 with the team of Davis-Reed-Sosebe-Santiago.

Eagle Grove would place 7th with a 58 points as a team, as they came away with one event winner with senior Addy Jeske winning the long jump with a mark of 16′ 6.25″. Taytum Edwards would place 2nd in the 200m dash in a time of 27.60, while Myka Anderson placed 2nd in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:16.97. The Eagles 4×200 would place 4th in a time of 1:56.98 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards, while the 4×100 placed 4th in a time of 53.82 with the team of Jeske-Morgan-Lenning-Edwards.

Webster City girls track returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the North Central Conference Meet at Iowa Falls-Alden at 4:30 PM. Eagle Grove girls track also returns to action on Thursday, when they compete in the Top of Iowa West Conference Meet at West Hancock High School in Britt at 4 PM.
