(2A) #7 Webster City boys soccer shuts out Hampton-Dumont-CAL, 6-0

The Webster City Lynx boys soccer team returned to action on Monday, as they made the drive to Franklin County to take on the Hampton-Dumont-CAL Bulldogs in North Central Conference action at Hampton-Dumont-CAL High School. Webster City entered at 9-0 and ranked #7 in Class 2A, while HD-CAL entered at 7-1-2.

It would be a slow start to the match for the Lynx, as sluggish first half play on resulted in a 16th minute goal from Eddy Fuentes off a Conner Peck assist to give the Lynx a 1-0 halftime lead.

The start of the 2nd half would result in a Lynx ambush, with a 44th minute goal from Israel Torres off a David Villelas assist to make it 2-0, as Villelas would assist again on an Eddy Fuentes goal in the 47th minute to put the Lynx up 3-0. Fuentes would then collect a hat trick with an unassisted goal in the 49th minute to put Webster City up 4-0. Fuentes scored his 4th goal of the night off a Conner Peck assist in the 72nd minute to put the Lynx up 5-0, as freshman Jamie Martinez Andrial put the finishing touches on things with a 74th minute goal as the Lynx shutout the Bulldogs 6-0.

Webster City boys soccer improved to 10-0 with the win, and return to action on Thursday when they travel to Belmond to take on Wright County in North Central Conference action at 5:30 PM.
