
There were no injuries in an accident at 4:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the 136 westbound mile marker of Highway 20 in rural Hamilton County. The Iowa State Patrol reported a 2025 model Volvo VNL tractor trailer semi operated by Edward Woodley of Vincent was traveling west on 20 in the right lane when the tractor trailer tire suffered a blow out on the highway. A westbound 2016 model GMC Terrain SUV operated by Lindy Evje of Eagle Grove was traveling in the right lane and ran over the large chunk of the tire in the roadway. Iowa State Patrol trooper Jesse Davenport opened the hood to the Evje SUV to discover the drive belt was broken with oil sprayed from the vehicle. Damage to the Woodley semi was estimated at $500 with the damage to the Evje SUV estimated at $5000.
