Eagle Grove boys track competes at Dodger Relays

The Eagle Grove Eagles boys track team returned to action on Monday, when they made the short trip west into Webster County to compete in the annual Dodger Relays at Dodger Stadium in Fort Dodge. The Eagles were joined by the host Dodgers, as well as Boone, Humboldt, Marshalltown, Mason City, St. Edmond and Waukee Northwest.

Eagle Grove’s top placing relays would be the 4×200 and the sprint medley, both races finishing 4th. The 4×200 would be 4th in a time of 1:38.16, while sprint medley would be 4th in a time of 1:42.01. The Eagles top individual placer would be sophomore Syrus Willard, who tied for 2nd in the high jump by clearing 5′ 10″.

Eagle Grove would finish 8th with 27.5 points, Humboldt was the team champion with 158 points. Eagle Grove returns to action on Thursday when they travel to a quad meet at Forest City.
