Eagle Grove girls track hosts Webster City and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows in home invite

The Eagle Grove Eagles, Webster City Lynx and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows girls track teams returned to action on Thursday night, as Eagle Grove hosted their Lady Eagle Relays at Gene Hinrichsen Field at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Eagles, Lynx and Cowgirls were joined by Algona, Bishop Garrigan, Fort Dodge, Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, Pocahontas Area, St. Edmond, Storm Lake-St. Mary’s and West Hancock.

Clarion-Goldfield-Dows would take home wins in a couple of events, thanks to the efforts of Mikayla Beisel. Beisel won the girls high jump by clearing 5′ even. She would then follow up with a win in the 100m Hurdles in a time of 17.34 seconds.

Eagle Grove would see an event winner in the girls long jump, as Addyson Jeske took home gold with a jump of 15′ 10.5″. The Eagles would get a 3rd place finish in the 100m Dash from Addy Feske, in a time of 12.98 seconds. The Eagles 4×100 would place 4th in a time of 54.73 with the team of Jeske-Figueroa-Anderson-Feske.

Webster City would not have an event winner on Thursday night, but the Lynx still churned out many good performances. The Lynx placed 2nd in the 4×100 with a time of 53.95 with the team of Savitski-Gallentine-Weinschenk-Tesdahl. The Lynx would also claim 2nd in the sprint medley in a time of 1:59.75 with the team of Wright-Gallentine-Savitski-Grossoehme. Webster City would then claim 3rd in the 4×200 in a time of 1:55.55 with the team of Weinschenk-Wright-Tesdahl-Savitski. The shot put also saw a double up in points for the Lynx, as Adysen Poppen placed 3rd with a throw of 33′ 5″, while Jakaela Cherry was 4th with a throw of 33′ 2″.

Webster City would place 4th with 60.5 points, Eagle Grove was 9th with 32 points, while Clarion-Goldfield-Dows was 10th with 31 points.
