Eagle Grove basketball swept by North Union in TOIW doubleheader

The Eagle Grove Eagles basketball teams returned to action on Tuesday night, as they hosted the Warriors of North Union in Top of Iowa West action at Eagle Grove Elementary School. The Eagle girls entered at 0-17, while the Eagle boys entered at 8-8.

As they did in their matchup in Armstrong, North Union jumped out to a quick start, leading 17-8 after the first quarter, the lead then pushed to 33-12 at halftime. The Eagle Grove offense began to find its legs in the 2nd half, but the Warriors firepower proved to be too much in a 65-36 win. Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning.

The boys game followed as Eagle Grove looked to get back on the winning track, but things went awry from the start as North Union jumped all over the Eagles early and led 24-4 after the first quarter. Eagle Grove would bounce back, but the North Union offense proved to be too much as the Warriors took home a 78-45 win. Stats were not available on Bound as of Wednesday morning.

Eagle Grove basketball returns to action on Friday, when they travel to Buffalo Center to take on North Iowa in Top of Iowa West action.
