Trump wins Hamilton County GOP Iowa Caucuses

The road to the White House started last night with the Iowa Caucuses. Iowans braved the cold to attend these meetings held every four years to select their presidential candidates of their respective party. Hamilton County held the GOP Caucuses at four locations. Hamilton County Republicans selected Donald Trump at the caucuses as he received 334 votes Monday night. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has 121 votes for second. Third place finisher was former United Nations U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley with 85 votes. Other Republican caucus results feature Vivek Ramaswamy with 42 votes from Hamilton County. Ramaswamy ended his campaign for president late last night due to the low votes from Iowans and is lending his support to Donald Trump . Texas businessman and pastor Ryan Binkley received 3 votes. Former Arkansas governor Ava Hutchinson garnered 2 votes in Hamilton County’s Republican caucuses.
Hamilton County Democrats held their caucus meeting at InTandem in Webster City. The results from the Iowa Democratic caucus won’t be made public until March 5 as this will be handled through a mail in system.
The presidential candidates now have their eyes on New Hampshire for their primary next Tuesday,January 23.
