Jewell city council to meet for the final time in 2023 this evening, December 27.

The last meeting for 2023 for the Jewell City Council is set for 7:00 this Wednesday evening in the city hall of Jewell. There will be a public hearing for the proposed plans, specifications, form of contract and estimated cost for the first two phasesof the proposed Main Street Improvement Project. A consideration of bids and a resolution awarding the contract for the Main Street Improvement project will also be discussed tonight. There will also be the listing of city owned lots by the city council during the meeting. A recap of the annual audit will be on the agenda. A readjustment to the sewer rates in utility billing from $12.64 to $15.17 as the minimum charge will be reviewed. There will also be an announcement by David Turpen this evening. A recommendation from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources for the Jewell water supply plus other matters before the council.
