South Hamilton wrestling swept in HOIAC tri-dual by West Marshall and Perry

The South Hamilton Hawks wrestling team returned to action on Thursday night, as the made the trip south in to Dallas County to compete in a Heart of Iowa Conference tri-dual with the Perry Bluejays and the West Marshall Trojans.

South Hamilton opened the night with the Trojans of West Marshall, which saw the Hawks jump out to a 16-6 lead behind pins from Sam Fink (175) and Graham Peters (190), as well as a Keyton Remsburg (157) major decision (16-8). However, forfeit wins and pins for West Marshall dominated the remainder of the dual as West Marshall took home a 66-16 win.

The Hawks would then face the host Bluejays to end the night, as Perry jumped out to a 23-0 advantage. Braden Young got the Hawks on the board win a pin at 150,while Keyton Remsburg also got a pin at 157. Jonathan O’Neal picked up a forfeit win at 165, before Sam Fink pinned Andy Ochoa at 175 to make the score 24-23. But the lead wouldn’t last long as Perry won the final 3 matches to take a 41-24 win.

South Hamilton wrestling returns to action on Saturday, when they compete in the Jim Kinyon Invitational at Roland-Story High School in Story City.
