Iowa State Patrol investigate car pickup crash near a truck stop southwest of Duncombe early Sunday evening.

The Iowa State Patrol investigated a car pickup accident near the Marker 126 truck stop on Highway 20 southwest of Duncombe at 5:16 Sunday evening. Reportedly a 2007 model Toyota Yaris car driven by Terry J.Jenkins of Johnsburg,Illinois turned east from the truck stop road sign and began to travel east to the westbound lane inside lane. A westbound 2020 model Dodge Ram pickup driven by Jarrod E. Corbett of Palmyra,Missouri was in the westbound inside lane passing vehicles at the time. Upon awareness of the Jenkins car traveling the wrong direction, the driver braked and steered the pickup into median area The point of impact between the Jenkins car and the Corbett pickup truck occured in the inside lane of westbound Highway 20. Upon the impact the Yaris car rotated to the final rest positiong inside the shoulder and inside lane. The Ellis pickup continued in and out of the median accidentally hitting a state DOT sign causing $500 in damage before coming to rest in the inside lane of westbound lane of Highway 20. Jenkins suffered a possible injury in the late Sunday afternoon accident. The Jenkins car was totaled in the accident with the damage to the Ellis pickup estimated at $60,000.
Investigating state trooper Neil Morenz charged Terry Jenkins with Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
