Roland-Story cross country competes at Leon Fox Invite in Perry

The Roland-Story Norsemen cross country teams made the trip into Dallas County on Thursday night, to compete in the annual Leon Fox Invitational at Perry Golf and Country Club in Perry. The Norsemen were joined by the host Bluejays, as well as ADM, Ballard, Bondurant-Farrar, Boone, Des Moines Christian, Des Moines North, Des Moines Hoover, Greene County, Nevada, Saydel and Winterset.

Roland-Story’s girls would place 4th with 114 points, as they missed their top runner in junior Claire Truesdell. Elizabeth Ihle would be the top placer, finishing 12th in 21:06, while Brooke Thompson placed 20th in 22:04. Makenna Carlson placed 24th in 22:24, Kara Patterson was 25th in 22:37, as Matilde Motta rounded out the Norsemen lineup in 40th in 24:20.

The Norsemen boys would finish 6th with 192 points, as Corbin Lucchesi was the top-placer in 16th in a time of 18:02.80, while Evan Vogan placed 37th in 18:42.30. Lucas Wuebker was 42nd in 19:37.50, Luccas Hart was 47th in 19:44.70, while Cole Lucchesi was 61st in 20:57.60.

Roland-Story cross country returns to action next Thursday, when they compete in the Jim Klein Invitational at Jewell Golf and Country Club, hosted by South Hamilton.
