2023 KQRadio Volleyball Preview: Eagle Grove Eagles

The Eagle Grove Eagles program saw a building year in 2022, with a 3-17 record, after winning just one match in the prior 3 seasons. There’s a new coach at the helm with Elliott Sigala taking over, and Eagle Grove has a roster to help carry their coach to one of the better years the program has seen in quite some time.

The top returners for the Eagles include kills-leader Addyson Jeske, assists-leader Maddison Kaiser and blocks-leader Nadia Kaiser. Jeske makes up one-half of what could be a dynamic outside hitter-duo between her and fellow junior Tarissa Middleton, who racked up 56 kills in 2022. Calli Steil and Nadia Kaiser are two middle-hitters that can rotate and create problems for opposing teams in the middle as well.

In the back row, younger player such as Kennedy Thacker and Chloe Steil could solidify a solid defensive group, perhaps with one donning a libero jersey that was absent from the Eagle Grove lineup a season ago. Others to watch in the back row include Olivia Conaway and Noel Kovacs.

Eagle Grove opens their season on Monday, August 22nd when they take on Southeast Valley at Gowrie, the match can be heard on 95.7 KQWC.
