Stratford city council look at plans for a community summer event after Bluegrass festival ends.

The Stratford City Council this week met with Nancy Baker of the Stratford Community Development Corporation (SCDC) on what they would like to do for an event next summer in place of the Bluegrass Festival in July.The festival was held for the final time last July after 37 years. The SCDC will also be doing an event in October when Music in the Street will take place. SCDC officials will come back to the council when they have more detailed information.
The Stratford City Council approved a payment to Stony Creek Landscape for $16,182 for a donor wall using Hamilton County Freedom Rock Park funds.
There was also the approval of renewing the insurance for full time city of Stratford employees with an 8.69 percent increase and changing agents to Roger Robb from Group Benefit Ltd. beginning in 2023. A five percent increase in water and sewer utility rates were approved this week for residents and businesses in Stratford. A public hearing to amend the city budget for Stratford for the 2023 fiscal year was approved. Bambi Schrader of YSS of Hamilton County will meet with the Stratford City Council next month asking for funding for YSS next year..
