Webster City wrestling travels to Carroll for triangular on Thursday

The Webster City Lynx wrestling squad hits the roads west as they travel to Carroll to compete in a triangular at Carroll High School. The Lynx will be joined by the host Tigers and the Boone Toreadors.

Webster City is fresh off a 2nd place finish at the North Central Conference tournament last Saturday, and looking to fine tune a team looking to, not only, have a number of wrestlers qualify for state, but a shot to qualify for the team state duals on the Wednesday of the State Tournament.

The Lynx will begin by facing their long-time rivals in Boone. The Toreadors boast 3 ranked wrestlers in Class 3A per IA Wrestle, with Ty Solverson ranked #8 at 132 pounds, Jayden Angle ranked #4 at 182 pounds, and Hector Garcia ranked #11 at 285 pounds. The Toreadors will compete in the Raccoon River Conference Tournament on Saturday, also at Carroll High.

Webster City will then face off with the host Carroll Tigers. The Tigers currently boast two wrestlers ranked in Class 2A per IA Wrestler, with Cael Nelson ranked #12 at 120 pounds, and Carter Drake ranked at #9 at 138 pounds. The Tigers are hosting the Raccoon River Conference Tournament on Saturday.

The meet is slated to start at 5:30 PM at Carroll High School.
