Eagle Grove travels to Algona Bishop Garrigan on Friday

The Eagle Grove Eagles take the hardwood on Friday night for the 3rd time this week, as they make the trek north to Algona to take on Bishop Garrigan in Top of Iowa play. The Bishop Garrigan girls are 12-3 and ranked #2 in Class 1A, while the Bishop Garrigan boys are 3-11.

The Bishop Garrigan girls won their first meeting with Eagle Grove last Thursday by a final of 60-24, and are looking for similar results on Friday. The Golden Bears are led by consensus top-100 recruit Audi Crooks, who is averaging nearly 22 PPG in 2021-22. Molly Joyce is also having a stellar junior campaign, averaging nearly 19 PPG, while shooting 47% from the field. Eagle Grove looks to get the Steil sisters back after missing the game against Belmond-Klemme on Tuesday.

The boys game follows in a rematch of a game that Bishop Garrigan took 62-47 in the first meeting last Thursday. The Golden Bears are led by senior Jacob Leerar, who is averaging 10 PPG and shooting nearly 48% from the field. Eagle Grove is coming off their best performance of the season, in a 74-53 win over Belmond-Klemme, where the Eagles totaled 15 threes to take down the Broncos.

Tipoff is slated for 6 PM at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona.
