Hamilton County sees a drop in unemployment for November..

There is a bit of encouraging news on employment in Hamilton County. The unemployment rate for November stood at 2.7 percent. In October the Hamilton County unemployment rate was 3.1 percent and in November,2020 the rate was 3.2 percent. The Iowa Workforce Development office reported 6,610 Hamilton County residents were employed last month while 180 people were without work. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties include Boone County at 3.1 percent, Franklin County at 3.4 percent, Hardin County at 3.9 percent, Story County at 2.6 percent, Webster County at 4.4 percent and Wright County at 3.6 percent.  Iowa’s unemployment rate for November came in at 3.7 percent.
