Sunday night house fire in Webster City.

A house fire sent the Webster City fire department into action at 9:06 Sunday night. The fire was reported at 714 Park Avenue. Fire chief Chuck Stansfield said when fire trucks arrived, there was smoke and flames coming from a two story single family residence.. Six people were living at the home. They all escaped injury. A search team was established and did a primary search on the structure. One family pet was located and found to be deceased. There was a live power line that was disconnected from the house. The Webster City LIne Department deenergized the line, and the gas to the home was turned off as well. The fire was quickly brought under control. The Webster City Fire Department began overhauling the structure looking for hot spots and investigated the cause and origin of last night’s fire. Based on initial findings, it appears the origin of the fire was in the laundry room. The cause is still under investigation.Webster City Police Department assisted with road control and gathering information.The Van Diest Medical Center EMS staff assisted at the scene. Again there were no injuries. The fire fighters returned back to the station just before 11 last night.
