The area of the 1600 block of James Street and Overpass Drive was the scene of a one vehicle accident Monday night just after 8:30 p.m. Webster City Police reported an eastbound 2006 model Honda Civic driven by Jillian Mallinger of Duncombe began to slide on the ice-covered street. Mallinger stated to officers that she tried to correct her vehicle but then over-corrected,and then left the road sideways facing south. The Mallinger vehicle then slid into a utility pole causing it to break. Webster City Line Department members will be repairing the pole. Investigating officer Matt Meyer estimated the damage to the Mallinger car at $15,000 with the damage to the light pole at $5,000.
