No player took a bigger leap from last season in the listening area that Webster City’s Evie Davis, who emerged as one of the premier post defenders and shot blockers in northern Iowa in 2025-26. Davis led the Lynx in points (14.4), rebounds (11.8) and blocks (1.9), while being 2nd in the NCC in rebounds and blocks, and finishing 4th in points.

6th Player of the Year: Signe Swenson, Fr. (South Hamilton)

Swenson brings home 6POTY honors for South Hamilton, as she provided a stabilizing presence off the bench, while finishing 4th on the squad in scoring (6.1), and finishing 2nd on the team in rebounds (4.6), showcasing a promising future in the post for the Hawks.

Coach of the Year: Marty McKinney (Webster City)

Accomplishments – 9 wins (most in a season since 2019-20 for Webster City), first sweep of Humboldt since 2018-19, first postseason win since 2018-19.

It may not pop off the page to the casual fan or supporter, but Marty McKinney has done a wonderful job of trying to reinvigorate at Lynx program that still is seemingly not too far removed from state tournament appearances in the 2000s. Nine wins is the most in a season for the Lynx since 2019-20, and with a majority of starters back in 2026-27, the outlook looks promising for the Purple and Gold.
