Roland-Story track and field competes in IATC Indoor Championships on Friday

AMES, Ia. — The Roland-Story Norsemen track and field teams returned to action on Friday evening, as they competed in the annual IATC Indoor Championships at Lied Rec Center on the campus of Iowa State. The Norsemen competed in the Class 2A meet on Friday.

Roland-Story’s girls would place 15th in the meet with 14 points, as their highlight was a win in the 2A girls 60m shuttle hurdle, as the Norse won in a time of 39.60, over a full second faster than runner-up Treynor, with the team of Brookelyn Jondle-Maddi Lucas-Selah Helgeson-Taylor Rechkemmer. Rechkemmer would also finish 5th in the 60m hurdles, qualifying for the finals with a time of 9.70, before running a 9.82 in the final. The girls 4×400 placed 11th in a time of 4:26.97 with the team of Lande-Long-Janes-Lucas, while the 4×800 placed 12th in a time of 11:20.54 with the team of Long-Larson-Bates-Patterson.

Roland-Story’s boys would place 18th with 12 points on Friday, as the Norsemen’s top placer was senior Cody Long in the long jump, finishing runner-up with a mark of 20′ 7.5″. Tristen Crabbs would finish top 10 in the 200m dash with a time of 22.94 seconds, as Corbin Lucchesi finished top 10 in the 1600m run, placing 9th in 4:49.87. The boys shuttle hurdle would place 8th in a time of 36.74 with the team of C. Long-Barber-Jonas-B. Long, as the 4×100 placed 12th in a time of 45.40 with the team of Kilstofte-C. Long-Crank-Crabbs.

Roland-Story track and field returns to action on Tuesday, March 24th, when they compete in an indoor meet hosted by Wartburg College in Waverly, beginning at 2 PM.
