
The Webster City Lynx boys golf team was in action on Tuesday and Wednesday, as they competed in the 2025 Class 3A State Tournament at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. The Lynx were joined at the state meet by Atlantic, Ballard, Gilbert, Independence, Knoxville, MOC-Floyd Valley, Solon, Spencer, Waverly Shell-Rock, West Delaware and West Liberty.
Webster City would place 12th as a team with a score of +78. Senior Cael Nixon would tie for 40th as the Lynx top placer, shooting +14 for the tournament. Sophomore Coyce Bertran would tie for 55th and shoot +18, junior Dawson Bertran would place 65th and shoot +22, while senior Luke Firsching would place 68th and shoot +24.
Waverly-Shell Rock and MOC-Floyd Valley would tie for the Class 3A Title, as each team shot +12 for the tournament. Nevada sophomore Parker Rodgers was the individual state champion, shooting -7 for the tournament.
