The Webster City Lynx boys golf team returned to action on Monday, as they competed in their Class 3A District Meet at Landsmeer Golf Course in Orange City. The Lynx were joined by Algona, Denison-Schleswig, Humboldt, MOC-Floyd Valley, Okoboji, Spencer, Spirit Lake and Storm Lake.
Webster City would put together a 3rd place finish with a team score of 330 (+46), qualifying the Lynx for their first state tournament since 2022. The Lynx’s top placer was senior Cael Nixon, who tied for 4th and shot a 78 (+7). Sophomore Dawson Bertran would tie for 8th and shoot an 80 (+9), senior Cole Miller tied for 20th and shot an 84 (+13), while sophomore Coyce Bertran rounded out scoring by tying for 25th and shooting an 88 (+17).
The Lynx join MOC-Floyd Valley and Spencer in advancing to the Class 3A State Tournament, which will be played at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls on Tuesday, May 27th and Wednesday, May 28th.
