The Webster City Community School District has named Ms. Sarah Nachazel as the next Northeast
Hamilton Elementary School Principal, pending School Board approval.
For the past two (2) years, Nachazel has served the North Iowa School District as a K-12 Associate Principal/7-12 Activities
Director. Prior to this role, she served as a School Improvement Facilitator for Prairie Lakes AEA.
Nachazel completed her principal licensure program at Drake University in 2008. Prior to earning her Master’s in
Educational Leadership, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Buena Vista University in 1998.
The advertisement and selection process began in March. Twenty-five (25) applicants were initially screened to six (6)
candidates. Phone screenings narrowed the list to three (3) finalists, who were invited to on-site interviews. Four (4)
different stakeholder interview teams consisting of Parent/Community Members, Elementary Staff, Administrators, and
District Office Staff conducted interviews with each of the three (3) finalists on Friday, May 9th.
“We undertook a comprehensive and methodical search to identify the most qualified and capable leader for our Elementary
School,” said Superintendent Matt Berninghaus. “After a thorough evaluation of input from the four interview committees
and thoughtful consideration of feedback gathered through the stakeholder survey, there was a strong consensus supporting
the appointment of Ms. Nachazel as the new principal of Northeast Hamilton Elementary School.”
Ms. Nachazel provided the following statement: “I am incredibly honored to have the opportunity to be the next principal
of Northeast Hamilton Elementary. I look forward to meeting students, families, and staff and learning more about the
traditions and values that make this school special.”
Ms. Nachazel is slated to begin her new position on July 1.
