Posted: Nov 16 2012 by ppowers

The 100th anniversary of the Boy Scout program in Webster City will be celebrated September 28 and 29,2013 at the Wilson Brewer Park-Bonebright Museum complex. The museum will mount a large display on scouting beginning in May,2013 and will host an All Scout Reunion on September 28 and 29,2013. The weekend's activity schedule will be announced at a later date. On the "possible" list is a Saturday night campfire at the museum and an outdoor movie showing of "Follow Me Boys" based on the book "God and My Country" by the late Webster City author MacKinlay Kantor and starring Fred MacMurray and Kurt Russell.  Also that weekend, the Webster City Boy Scouts will host more than 600 Central Iowa scouts in a Camporee at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds. If you have any Boy Scout photos to share, please e-mail them to nancykayser@iowatelecom.net. You can also contact Nancy if you have any Boy Scout items to donate to the museum or have items just for display during the reunion.
