Webster City Police investigated two motor vehicle accidents in the community on Wednesday....
The 1000 block of First Street was the location of an accident at about 2:15 p.m. Reportedly a westbond 2001 Kia driven by Chance Christian of Webster City hit a patch of ice on the street. The Christian car accidentally ran into the side of a parked Dodge Dakota pickup with the name of the owner unknown. Investigating officer Ryan Pittman estimated the damage to the Christian car at $1000 and an estimated $500 in damages to the parked pickup.
Police were called to the intersection of James and Grove Streets shortly after 10:30 Wednesday night to investigate a two car accident. Reportedly an eastbound 2011 Kia driven by Matthew Hood of Webster city was preparing to make a right turn on to Grove Street when the car slid due to the icy conditions. The Hood car ended up damaging the left front fender to a parked 1999 Pontiac Sunfire with the name of the owner not known. Investigating officer Brandon Pritchard estimated the damage to the Hood car at $2000 and an estimated $1500 in damages to the Pontiac. |
