Webster City Fire Hydrant Flushing to begin next week.

 The Webster City Street Department will be starting to flush fire hydrants to increase the life of the city's watermains. This flushing may temporarily cause some cloudiness or discoloration of the water in homes which should only last for a short period of time. The work will be starting about 7:00 a.m. on October 16th and will follow this schedule:

Wednesday,October 16-All fire hydrants within the area South of Elm Street, West of Des Moines Street and North of Ohio Street. 

Thursday,October 17-All fire hydrants within the area South of Second Street, West of Des Moines Street and North of Elm Street.

Friday,October 18- All fire hydrants within the area West of Des Moines Street and North of Second Street. This will also include the area to Van Diest Supply.

Monday,October 21- All fire hydrants within the area North of Ohio, East of Des Moines Street, South of Elm Street to the Boone River, including the area of the Waste Water Plant and Street Department. Also the area South of East Dubuque Street, East of Bell, and south of the East/West High Street leg including the Hamilton County Fairgrounds.

Tuesday,October 22-All fire hydrants within the area South of Second Street, East of Des Moines and North of Elm west of the Boone River. Also the area North of East Dubuque,West of Bell, North of the East West leg of High Street to include the easement to Hillcrest Trailer Court.

Wednesday,October 23-All fire hydrants within the area of East of Des Moines Street and North of Second Street. This is to include the White Fox to 210th to Des Moines Street loop outside the city limits.

Thursday, October 24-All fire hydrants within the area South of Ohio Street, West of the Railroad tracks and East of Des Moines Street. Also all hydrants South of Highway 20.

Friday,October 25- All fire hydrants within the area South of Ohio Street, West of Des Moines Street and North of Highway 20.

Flushing operations should be completed by 4:00 p.m. each day. In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen events, the flushing schedule may be adjusted. The Webster City Public Works Department hopes that residents will understand this inconvenience and bear with them during this work. If you have any questions, please call the Public Works Department at 832-9139.
