Posted: Feb 14 2013 by ppowers

The Webster City Community Schools PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) is reaching out to area businesses and community members to help raise money for the Safe Surface playground at Sunset Heights and Pleasant View schools. The estimated cost to finish the projects at both schools is $70,000. PTO members are looking to raise a good portion of the monies needed for the Safe Surface so the district can take care of other needs and repairs. The Safe Surface make the playgrounds safer places for kids to play. This will also be a benefit to the community as many families use both playgrounds on nights and weekends as community parks. The PTO group are selling squares for the surface at $50 per square. Any gift would be appreciated. The PTO group is looking for area restaurants who would like to participate in a kid and family meal night.Webster City Hy-Vee is the first on board to provide a meal once a month that kids will enjoy. They are charging $5 a meal with half of the monies going to the PTO project. This will also help with the cost of the safe surface. If you are willing to make a donation, you may contact Niki Kumm at 515-297-1130 or send your donations to Webster City PTO at 853 Water Street, Webster City,Iowa 50595.
