Van Diest Medical Center CEO Mason announces resignation.

The Board of Directors at Van Diest Medical Center has accepted the resignation of CEO Robert (Bob) Mason. Mason tendered his resignation at a special board meeting held Tuesday afternoon in order to pursue other opportunities. Mason filled the role of Interim CEO beginning in November,2012,prior to his being named CEO of Van Diest Medical Center in March,2013. Mason extended his appreciation to the board and staff at the hospital stating that Van Diest Medical Center is a very special place. He said he has appreciated the opportunity to work with such a caring team. Mason further stated that Webster City and those throughout Hamilton County is extremely fortunate to have this facility and quality healthcare services available. Van Diest Medical Center Board Chair Carroll Ose acknowledged the Administrator for making a difference at the hospital. Ose said Mason made significant contributions to the organization with making positive change at the hospital and community under his leadership. Mercy Health Network in Des Moines will provide administrative management until an Interim CEO is named. Working with the  Board of Directors at Van Diest Medical Center, Mercy officials will begin the recruitment process to search for a new CEO.
