As a part of National Recovery Month, the Stratford Community Library is raising awareness among elementary students by designating this week as Kindness Week. Students at Stratford Elementary School are being asked to track their acts of kindness. On Friday, the students will receive glo-sticks with the words,"Continue to let your light shine". Also on Friday, volunteers will read "The Sneeches" by Dr. Seuss. The book is a morality tale that shares even though we are different we are very much alike. The students will also get a chance to create cookies with one to eat and one to share. They will also work on placemats that will be given to Stratford residents who receive Meals on Wheels.

Central Iowa Recovery clinical director Deb Rohlfs will also bring her experience helping people with mental health problems to the book discussion.
