The Stanhope City Council on Monday night approved the 2013-14 operating budget with the total revenues at $827,095 and the total expenditures of $826,364. The council went on to approve the names, positions, salaries and wages of all employees of the City of Stanhope for the 2013-14 fiscal year. There were no raises given due to budgetary constraints.
There was a conference call with John Krajewski of JK Energy Consulting of Lincoln, Nebraska in regards to a new power supplier for the Stanhope community. The council tentatively selected Heartland Consumers Power District of Madison,South Dakota as the supplier beginning January 1,2014, subject to further negotiation and a formal contract to be signed in May. Further discussion to take place with Heartland regarding the possible construction of a substation.
The Stanhope council also approved a PULL Service Agreement between the Stanhope Municipal Utilities and the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities. |
