Special Olympic Torch Run held Thursday in Webster City
Posted: May 23 2013 by ppowers

Hamilton County's Special Olympic athletes made their way through the downtown area of Webster City Thursday morning as a part of the annual Torch Run event. The competitors come from the Webster City and South Hamilton schools and from Friends Forever Social Education Center. The athletes will be competing this Friday and Saturday at the Special Olympic Summer Games in Ames on the campus of Iowa State University. Thursday's parade featured the Webster City Middle School directed by Jon Jensen and the law enforcement officers from across Hamilton County. There was a smaller turnout of law enforcement participants due to the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 15 year old Kathlynn Shepard of Dayton. KQWC Radio extends its best to the Special Olympic participants in Ames this week.
