Six people injured in a van semi accident in Franklin County Monday morning.

Six people from New Mexico were injured Monday morning in a van semi accident on Interstate 35 at the 157 mile marker in rural Franklin County. The Iowa State Patrol reported a southbound 2007 Freightliner semi operated by  24 year old David Muellerleile of Burnsville,Minnesota came up behind and struck the rear end of a southbound 1994 Ford van driven by 29 year old Homero Aranda of Hobbs,New Mexico. The impact sent the Aranda van to lose control as it entered the median and rolled over. Aranda and his passengers Cesar Urias, Juan Urias and Jose Urias all of Hobbs,New Mexico, Daniel Duran of Fairacres,New Mexico and Jose Hernandez of Las Cruces,New Mexico were transported to hospitals in Hampton and Iowa Falls for treatment of their injuries. Muellerleile escaped injury in the accident. The accident remains under investigation.
