Petersen sworn in as newest member of the Webster City Police Department

Webster City Mayor Janet Adams (right) on Wednesday afternoon administered the oath of office to the newest member of the Webster City Police Department. Adam Petersen grew up south of Sioux City. He attended Ellsworth Community College for two years and later transferred to Iowa State University in Ames where he majored in Animal Ecology. Petersen said he enjoys helping people as one of the reasons he wanted to become a police officer. He was also impressed with the community of Webster City and its police department. Petersen will be reporting to the Iowa Police Academy next Monday for training and classroom work for a 14 week period.
